Cherif Diouf

Cherif Diouf was born in Senegal and spent his early childhood in Ethiopia, where his father served with the United Nations. At the age of fourteen, he immigrated to the United States on his own, driven by a vision of building a better future.

He attended and graduated from the New York Military Academy in 1999 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford in 2003 through determination and hard work. Like many immigrants, Cherif faced challenges adapting to a new culture and environment, but remained focused on achieving the American Dream.

Cherif built a successful career in Connecticut’s automotive industry, serving in leadership roles with New Country Motor Car Group in Hartford and the Hoffman Auto Group in East Hartford. With more than two decades of experience, he is widely respected as a leader and mentor, known for his professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence. He has guided and supported many young professionals aspiring to enter the industry, serving as a role model within both the workplace and the broader community.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Cherif has made meaningful contributions to the Senegalese, West African, and broader African diaspora communities in Connecticut. He has actively supported cultural events, contributed to fundraising efforts, and sponsored youth initiatives that promote leadership and opportunity. He is known for opening his home to newly arrived immigrants, providing support and guidance as they establish themselves and pursue their goals.

Cherif is recognized for treating his employees, colleagues, and customers with respect and care, reflecting strong values of family, generosity, and community. His journey—from arriving in the United States as a teenager to becoming a respected leader—embodies resilience, perseverance, and the spirit of immigrant success.
